How to Get Involved With ElectroRally

So, you want to compete in the Kansas ElectroRally? Before your school can become a Kansas ElectroRally participant, there are several important requirements every school must complete:

1) Read and understand all requirements and obligations for becoming a Kansas ElectroRally team. This Kansas ElectroRally booklet should give you all the information needed to learn and understand what it takes to compete in the Kansas ElectroRally. If you have questions please call, we are always ready to help.

2) Assemble a school-sponsored team including instructors, student members and parent volunteers. Assembling a committed team of instructors, students and parents is a very important step in successfully completing the project and competing in the race. Remember to include team members with a  variety of disciplines and talents including industrial arts, science & math, design and journalism.  You will need expertise in all areas to be successful.

3) Contact you local electric utility. The Kansas ElectroRally is the product of numerous electric utility companies in the state. Utility professionals have actively supported and been involved with car design and construction at most ElectroRally schools. Make sure to explore this partnership opportunity.

4) Read & sign the Kansas ElectroRally Team Contract. After you've assembled your team, read and sign the Kansas ElectroRally contract. In efforts to make the event much like a real-world business operation, Kansas ElectroRally has developed a contract for student team members to review and sign. The  contract is included in the back of this section and is required for your team's participation. Student team members should review and discuss the document before they sign. The contract details  obligations for Kansas ElectroRally participation under the terms of the agreement, and also details what the ElectoRally commits to the schools. Kansas ElectroRally wants to emphasize to team  members that, since they have said they will put in the effort to complete the project and race, they are excluding another school from being able to compete. There are no financial or legal liabilities that instructors, team members or the school assume by signing the contract.

5) Read & sign the Kansas ElectroRally Liability Release. Each team member and team coach must sign the Kansas ElectroRally liability release form. The team coach must mail the release forms to Kansas ElectroRally.
